Whatats on Your Workspace Wednesday - 130

Wednesday, the day when crafters all around the world share their workspaces, or in my case, my mess, care of our hostess, Julia at Stamping Ground.
This is my desk at 4:00 pm Tuesday, before the light went completely.

Not a lot to show apart from the gorgeous Clarice Cliff fabric 'hang-about' made for me by the talented and truly lovely Jozart, a Christmas present to me all the way from Japan (Mr B's cousin is an English teacher in Tokyo and his talented and beautiful Japanese wife, who is also into various crafts, sends me little treasures), isn't the leaf stunning?

What else is on my table? My prize from Crafty Individuals for the November challenge I was lucky enough to win - a new stamp plate featuring perfume bottles, a handbag mirror and a cute brooch.

Finally my attempt at a paper angel which didn't turn out at all well.  The instructions are from The Paper Trail but I must have gone wrong somewhere as I can't get it to stuck together - must need stronger glue or thinner paper.  This is what it should look like...linky........ and this is what I ended up with,,, oops!

Not a lot of crafting done since weekend as my little doggy has not been well since Sunday.  She woke us up at 2:30 am on Monday morning barking to go out to 'get done' and we ended up sitting watching TV with a cup of tea until she settled.  Did the same Monday night, only this time it was 3:30am.  She's fine in herself, eating, drinking and playing but obviously has some sort of bowel upset so it was rice and fish for her supper Tuesday night (as I write) so fingers crossed we get a good night's sleep.

Finish with a photo of our craft group Christmas party on Saturday (you may recognise Jozarty and Neet of Hickydorums) as I'm lucky enough to be part of the same group of lovely people.  We had great fun, especially 'pass the parcel' - ask Jo.

Neet is front left, Jo is centre, with the pink jacket and mistletoe headband, and I am to the right of Jo in the jade jumper (my favourite colour).

This photo makes me realise how much weight I need to get off. Only trouble is I love food and especially the stuff you get at Christmas!
Sorry to hear about Sorrel, hope she is ok.
That leaf is even nicer than you described it. You will have to figure out how to do it and then show me. You must share what is in the parcel come Christmas - please.
Hugs, Neet #1 xx

Don't you just love it when you get a present that is already beautiful before you even get into it :) I think your tatty angel is saying creative opportunity! - you don't need to copy Laura directly after all ;) Love that your party has a token male presence :)

Great that y'all had a party - am thinking there's more stories than we're being allowed to hear!! I think your angel is nearly there...are you going to persevere (asks the woman who gives in so easily it's shameful!). Hope the rice and fish supper helps you little pooch...horrid when they can't tell you really.

I think the start of your angel is lovely! I've been busy this week with Nativity plays, luckily just watching! My input days have been and gone. Have a great week. Happy Crafting HaPpY WoYwW Lyn #31

What you missed out is that whilst I made the HangAbouts for you... you gave a generous charity donation for them. Thank YOU!!! What a great day it was on Saturday ... such fun and I have already owned up to what I had to do for my forfeit in an earlier post!
Keep going with the angel and you'll get there... it's purely an engineering problem to solve as you've cut it out OK!
hope Sorrel is recovering...love JoZarty x

Hi Ann
A wonderful stamp choice as your winner's prize. I inked that set up for the first time last week for a Postcard swap (not posted on my blog yet).
Your test is so tidy, I am very impressed!!

Yay! I missed out on the photocall. Visiting my Mum has its uses, lol. Sorry I missed the rest of the party but by all accounts the madness went downhill from then on so it just goes to prove that I'm not the noisy one at all.....

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, Ann, and I'm glad you like my butterfly mirrors! Here's a link to the glass bead gel medium:

I like Golden mediums best, but there are other brands - it's just a matter of personal preference really. They've got an amazing range, as you will see if you have a look at that site. Acrylic gel mediums are brilliant and I use them quite a lot these days.

I don't think your angel looks too bad - my first impression was "Oh! How pretty" - it might be a bit droopy but who's counting.

Your craft group party looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing the lovely picture.

Hi Ann, me again. I've just been ordering some more Golden gel mediums and was searching around because the site I gave you the link for didn't have everything I wanted, and I've found a better site - cheaper too - they do loads of art stuff:

Hope this is helpful! Shoshi #56

Clarice Cliff fabric!! Where from? Your crafty group look like a fun bunch and I know what you mean with glue I had a similar experience this week and everything ended in the bin

You're welcome, Ann! Hope you manage to find what you want OK. I started with the "trial pack" of 6 small pots of gel mediums and have needed to replace several of them! The Coarse Pumice one is really cool too - great gritty texture. They are awesome products! Shoshi #56

You are so lucky to have such a big crafty group! I followed the link to the paper angel. Thought yours looked kinda cool, but I see what you mean, it doesn't look like the one in the tutorial. I am afraid I am of no help what so ever. If I tried it would not even look kinda cool. LOL
