WOYWW 166

I'm late this week, just taken the photo this morning as I wanted to join in having missed joining the last two WOYWW .  Holidays last week and Olympics this have made a big hole in my crafting time.

Bought a felting kit to take with me to Somerset (trying yet another new craft) but it stayed in it's box all week - Q. how can you craft in a houseful of people/children; A. you can't, well, I can't.

Finally got it out yesterday and did my first felting in-between cycling semi-finals and the very, very exciting finals.  How fantastic is Sir Chris Hoy?

Anyway, on with the photos, here's my desk.
Felting kit at centre with my effort on its foam block at the front.  I followed a pattern in the book for a field of poppies but as I didn't have any red wool the flowers are Welsh poppies (gold).  Not finished yet as I have to add another layer of bigger flowers and buds.

Came home to a pile of posts, the best of which was a card from Royal Mail saying a parcel was waiting for me and in the parcel the beautiful quirky art girl from Donna.  When I got my new sewing machine the collection of feet from my old one were redundant and after I offered them to anyone who could use them Donna (Doone) said she would make me an art doll.  There are more photos of her on Donna's blog if you want a closer look.

So cycling is finished so what do I do for my daily 'exercise' now?  Think I'll have to try hockey.

Hockey is far too dangerous Ann, maybe some Equestrian would be more fitting for a lady. Can't wait to see your felting results, x

Now , come on, that machine footed girlie has to have a name??? How about telling us YOUR alter ego name and calling her by that? You didn't leave one and you'll get an extra entry for the blog candy if you do.
Have fun with that felt!
We missed you Saturday... think I've said that before, but we did!
Love JoZarty x

I know nothing of felting except for that I like the end results. That kit makes it look doable and fun. Love your field of poppies.

I think hockey sounds like a great next exercise--with a beer in hand and the feet up, of course!

A friend tried to teach me felting once, but I just couldn't get the hang of it! Although I did end up with a cute felted hair piece for my daughter :)
Happy WOYWW!

The felting looks cool is it done by hand or do you need to use a machine?

Have to say the Hocky and Table Tennis leave me cold, along with the Sailing. But the Cycling has been wonderful and the Equestrian and loads of other sports.....

Thanks for stopping by BJ #19

I've only needle felted once and immediately broke the needle. That takes patience, I think. Glad you are enjoying the Olympics because I saw some sports I'd never heard of before. I'm 22 this week.

Sewing first and now Dumfing! Is there no end to your talents Ann? Love the picture but will need to see a bigger one please (Photo not picture) when it is finished (maybe the real thing could have a trip out to the club?).
Hope you had a good holiday and what's this about you going to Norfolk. Wish I had gone there.
Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet xx #36

Firstly, Sorrel is such a sweetie. I always smile when I see his photo on your sidebar. What a cutie.

I haven't tried felting yet. I'm afraid it would bother my teeth, kind of like fingers going down a chalkboard......

Yesterday was my blog anniversary - blog candy will be announced soon. If you haven't already (I've been trying to visit everyone this week), hop on over and put in your vote. As part of the candy I'm offering something made by me.

Happy WOYWW

Felting is one craft I am yet to try. I am a little scared to try anything new because I tend to become a little obsessive. LOL
Loving the Olympics.

Synchronised drowning?!! LOL!
Love your felting project. I had a handful of wool bits, Welsh of course, the other day and I heard Hubby breath a sigh of relief when I put them back as it would mean a whole new load of tools!
Glad you had a good holiday and hope Sorrel has settled home OK now. Dobby sends a lick!

Alas the chocolate fingers have been gone from those tins a long time ago and before I acquired the tins. However, they fit distress ink pads in perfectly and I am always on the look out for more tins!
