WOYWW 176

Quick visit this morning as Sorrel is waiting for her walk so here is my desk.

A bit bare as we have been away for the weekend and Sunday is my usual day for playing.  Still it was good to get out in the fresh air and a bit of sunshine (see previous post for a few pictures).

So what can we see, my ongoing sock knitting - very slow progress but I'm getting used to managing the needles now.  Also my 'moulding' drawer with polymer clay, moulding mats and various bits and pieces.  The roasting bag is to back the clay in (stops the fumes spreading) so when I get back I'm going to have a go at making some beads.

Here is a close-up of the knitting.

I like the colours but think I have left the rib a bit short - we live and learn.

Will be back later for a good old nosey round the rest of the desks via Julia's place

Hi Ann, great pics in your previous post, you certainly visited some lovely places. Love the look of your socks so far, by the time you get to the turn of the heel you will be an expert with the needles. Happy WOYWW, Anne x #41

I started knitting socks a while ago but haven't made much progress. Now that it's so much warmer here I guess I won't be finishing them any time soon. Would love to have a sticky beak into that polymer clay drawer. I once had a workshop with Laurie Mika (maybe I have told you that before?). She was so inspirational! Thanks for visiting me!

I bet you'll be off, off and away in your new motor home whilst the weather isn't toooo cold. Love your sock wool and you are doing so well. I hate knitting circular but I love hand knitted socks!
Hope we manage to see you soon... it seems ages. You would have loved it at the weekend... wish you and Neet could have made it. Carol was poorly so had to cancel.
love Jo x

Hope you enjoyed your first trip in the motorhome, that's a nice area of the country. My husbands mothers family are from The Wirral, last time we were there we visited Ness Gardens, an absolute beauty and highly recommended if you've never been. Love the sock colour, I make my ribs 1 1/2" before starting the sock body proper, and I only use three needles too, don't know if this is easier or harder! Might try four next time and see how I get on!

Ok - I think I am going to start knitting just so I can make socks!
Every time I see knitted socks in fun patterns they look so cosy :)
I think it would be relaxing to do!

Hey, Autumn Socks!! Love the colours in the yarn. I know I wouldn't have the patience ro knit with four needles, so socks might be forever beyond me!!
I don't much like Halloween either but the fabric is going to be a prezzy for someone who adores it!!

Hi Ann,

Oh, you must keep Sorrel happy! He is such a cutie (or is he and she?).

Your sock looks great. I did take a sock class and I got about as far as you are in that photo! To be touched never again. I found working with the dpn cumbersome.

Thanks for visiting me already.

Seeing your knitting has reminded me I should get back into mine - I'd hoped to have that jumper finished in time for the winter and I've not even finished the back yet lol!! Love the colour of your wools for your socks. 4-needle knitting is fun, and so is turning heels! Haven't done it in years...

Thanks for your lovely comment about my art journal page - it turned out better than I expected. I hadn't planned on "spreading out" the music originally, but wanted somehow to bring the two pages together in a unified whole, and I thought the fluid lines would also express the "fragrance" of the music! I'm very pleased with it.

Happy belated WOYWW,
