Whats On your Workspace Wednesday 135

Can hardly believe it is 2012, seems only a year or so ago we were getting ready for the new millenium.  My theory is that someone has pressed the fast-forward button by mistake.  Maybe it's Julia at The Stamping Ground, the lovely lady who organises this hop around the crafting desks of the world, if so Julia, can you push the 'pause' button now please.

Christmas decorations back up in the loft and still not fully back into crafting but I have made a start and am getting ready for Vicky Stampers get together on Saturday by cutting all my greyboard pieces to size.  Made a bit of a boob when I measured them as two were a bit short - someone must have shortened my ruler - so had to re-do those.

The scrapbook papers at the back right are for the project as well.  The greeny-purply book at the back is my the newly done cover of my art journal and the tin at the front is full of stuff, want to see inside?  Of course you do.

It's a treasure chest, well almost, it's full of broken jewellery and a gift from my sister.  If you read my 'New Year' post you will know that she fell over the vacuum cleaner on New Years Eve and fractured her elbow and badly bruised her shin.  Luckily she only lives 5 mins drive away and her daughter lives even closer (just round the corner) so she is getting a lot of help.

I went round yesterday to help her get dressed , do a few jobs and keep her company and we were talking about craft and recycling  and out came this tin from the back of the cupboard.  Goodness knows what she was saving it for but I'm glad she did.  There are three broken watches for stripping down and I am going to make a mould with the massive brown 'rope' earring at the top of the tin.  There were even two eye-shadow pencils in there as a bonus.

I'm going round today as well and probably Friday so will not get much time to craft this week, could be worse, could be me (only joking).  At least Sorrel is fully recovered, eating well and full of beans but she doesn't like the windy weather.

Happy 2012 everyone, hope it's a good one for you.

How strange we should both post about Saturday! Yes, my cutting left a lot to be desired but luckily could be remedied. One of my rulers has its inches slightly larger than the other one - seriously! That does NOT help at all.
Hope your sister is soon well enough to cope without too much help (which will mean she is on the road to recovery)and glad Sorrel is better and keeping in from these high winds.
Thanks for including your number when commenting I find it makes so much difference. Hugs, Neet #1

That really is a Treasure Chest- it seems that years ago everyone had tins & tubs of what they called junk, that we would now kill to get our hands on, lol. Hope your Sis is feeling a little better now,Happy new Year, Shaz x

Oh no-a vacuum cleaner accident! I knew housework was dangerous. Your tin is most excellent and so is your sis for passing it on to you. How exciting it must have been to dig through it.

Hi Ann,

I know all about cutting greyboard.....not a fun job at all. Still hopefully the joy of rummaging through that magical tin of precious treasure helped to ease the pain a little!

I hate it when that happens , you measure, you cut, you measure again...wrong. How does it happen!!! This is going to be a great project, can't wait to see. Your poor sister, thank goodness you're all around for her, and the tin. Full of treasure...well isn't she a treasure for holding on titans thinking of you for it!

Happy Creative 2012 to you, Ann. I'm loving the junp Start site and pleased you too have taken it up.
There is something about you and treasure chests!! The ones you've made and now the ones you've acquired. Take care rummaging as there could be real treasure amongst the bling. I recently found a real gold key charm and chain in a similar box. Well done Sis for saving it and hope she's A1 soon. so lucky for her that you are near. Oooh and Good news about Sorrel!
Look forward to seeing you at Vicky Stampers on Saturday...

Hi Ann,

Me again. Thanks for your kind words about my mom. You know what it's like; wish I was more "grown up" when my mom passed.

Maybe they are gabbing in heaven now; about their daughters, the bloggers!!! Wouldn't that be something!

Hugs,
Kay

Lovely interesting work desk this week Ann! Gorgeous treasure box. I can just imagine rummaging through there!

Thank you for your awesome comment on my blog. So glad you liked my wedding dress and card! I'd love to see a picture of your dress sometime as it sounds absolutely lovely - I love the Edwardian period - so elegant.

Happy New Year and happy WOYWW, Shoshi #60

Oh now that really is a treasure trove. Love your idea of making the mould.

No, I don't think we have met yet. I did WOYWW religiously when it first started and there were just a handful of us and then it grew and grew and at the same time stuff was happening in my life so my mojo shrank and shrank and I kinda shrank away with t. No more. I'll drag that blighter out kicking and screaming this year :)

Thanks for stopping by mine :)
