Whats On Your Workspace Wednesday - 139

Afraid my table this week is a little bare. Was away for the weekend and find that journey down the M6 and M5 to Bristol increasingly hard to do, still it is worth it to see family, especially my youngest Granddaughter Kitty - she is growing up so quickly.
Even thought there is nothing creative on there at the moment I thought I would show you my favourite storage box.

It is a Really Useful Box with a pair of trays in it that are full (and I mean full) of all my little embellishments, charms, book rings and lots of bits and pieces all waiting for the right project.

Also on my desk is my journal as I finished a page on Friday.  Well I say 'finished' but I'm not fully happy with it, seems a bit too grungy for me - what do you think?

Am lucky enough to have been to Venice twice.  The first time we arrived by train and I couldn't believe the view from the station as it opens out directly on to the Grand Canal - what a station approach that is!  I bought some cheap acrylics for the background and used my Darkroom Door stamps adding watercolour to the images.  Think the reason I'm unsure about it are the 'floating' lampposts - look like spooky angels to me.

Finally a photo of Kitty
Worth the journey down the motorway don't you think?

This is a scheduled post as I'm off out tonight. Don't get out much (boo hoo) these days but I am going with a friend to see the Strictly Come Dancing Tour at the MEN so it will be a late night for me and a lie-in, and when I do get up I will settle down with a cup of tea and slice of toast to tour the other desks via Julia's fantastic desk-hopping site at Stamping Ground, and now she is doubly famous (having been featured in this month's Craft Stamper magazine) it will probably take me the rest of the day.

I have one of those boxes with 4 trays. LOL I see what you mean about the lamp posts but if you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have gone back to look. I still like them and the grungy look is perfect. Your grandie is a little cutie pie.

See you on Saturday.

great post today with all the awesome pics! Love the one of little Katie though! The embellie box is great too and I love the Venice journal page. I have been to Venice a couple of times but wasn't impressed! It was noisy, dirty and smelly I thought. I went both times in the summer so maybe I will try it in the winter when there is less heat and tourists! Listen to me! I bet someone wishes I would stay home too! I am offering up some blog candy so come leave a comment on my blog and get a chance to win! Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Vickie #90

I don't think the lamp posts are spooky at all! To me they represented a memory. I have only been to Venice once...in September...
My journal page would have mosquito's the size of those lamp posts and a pharmacy shop which my poor dear cousin had to search for as she was so sick from the welts!

wow, lot's to see in your post today! love that box and it's contents! i like grungy but if the floating lampposts are not to your liking, maybe a light horizontal painted line can anchor them down. i have been to Venice once and hope to visit again. it was too short a visit! happy WOYWW, and thanks for sharing!

Love boxes full of bits ...each time you rummage through ...you see more.
I think your page is lovely ...BUT ...if YOU are not happy then maybe you need to do something to make you happy with it. It was only when I read your dissatisfaction with the lamp posts that I saw it too...a little ...but then it is Venice ...what else would they be doing lol
What a gorgeous GD ...and I think that is a perfect door sign below. xx

I stopped by Wednesday to say hello, started writing a message, and my computer froze up on me. I had to restart it, and lost where I had been, since no one's name was darkened anymore. I was thrilled to read your lovely comment on my blog. Yep, this looks like a REALLY USEFUL BOX. I should get one! Oh wait, I'm not spending any money on art supplies this year (grin).

I see your concern about the lamps, but if this is a journal, you can turn those lamps into a lovely and useful page by journaling in between them and leaving the bottom (Venice) without words. Have a great Friday.

Love the colours on your AJ page it is beautiful. I wouldn't have noticed the lamp posts "floating" if you hadn't mentioned it as my eye was more drawn into the scene and down the waterway.
