I know I said a couple of days ago that I lived very near to countryside walks but the wildlife seem to be migrating to my garden. First a mouse (after the bird seed we put out) that Sorrel chased around the garden and which Mr B found was building a nest in Sorrel's sandpit (under the cover) and now this....
...a beautiful (depends on your opinion) toad, again in the sandpit but buried a few inches down in the damp sand.
Sorrel couldn't believe her luck when she dug it out this afternoon and now she has gone with Mr B to escort it to the nearest pond safely tucked away in it's ice cream container. It's gone by car as the pond is a mile away so chauffeur driven to its new home. Goodness knows how it got in our garden which is surrounded by other gardens on three sides and by our home on the fourth as none of our neighbours have a pond or water feature but I wonder if the little boy next door brought it home sometime.

I think it's beautiful, but is it a frog or a toad?? Anyway it's very lucky, that Sorrel didn't fancy a snack. Sorrel is too having her own sandpit LOL. xx
We live in more of a country than city place and every summer, little froggies make their way and hide under the barbeque cover. I think it is just so then can hear me scream when I take off the cover & they start jumping!
Aw, lovely Ann. I bet he/she comes back, even though you took him/her to a new home! We usually get baby frogs and toads hopping around the gardden but don't have a pond or anything similar and it's always good to see them. I got a photo of one around 3/4" in size one year. I wonder if they go back to the same place to breed every year like frogs do?
Hi Ann. Could have been a prince looking for his princess who was all out of kisses! lol! Lovely photo. tfs.
Have a great weekend.
Florence xx
Remind me to tell you about the frogs/toads on my back lawn years ago. Sorry, they don't do a thing for me unless they are made of fabric or pot.
Ugs, Neet xx
Well I wouldn't say it's cute or want to kiss it for that matter but I love all wildlife especially when it's in my own garden.
After all we share this planet :D
