January is almost over, roll on the spring, daffodils, crocus (or crocii if we are being pedantic), gentle warming sunshine and bright blue skies. I live in hope anyway, and in the meantime, and in the rain, I can craft away at my desk. Here it is when the light wasn't too bad Tuesday afternoon.
Worked on my art journal yesterday and made my own 'rainbow' (see previous post for a closer look) so that's on there, as is the pile of fat quarters I bought on Monday ready to start on the quilt I'm about to make (my first ever) for the charity JoZart blogged about on her LillyBo blog. I'm dithering a bot about what to do - if you think steeling yourself up ready for cutting into a pretty piece of paper is hard how do you think I feel about getting the scissors going on this pile? There is some more fabric on the chair, including a very, very pretty piece. I'm not sharing with you yet - want to keep the surprise until I finish the quilt, if I ever get it started.
Also in sight, two new stencils and a couple of sheets of Graphic 45 paper (you have to take my word for that as the sun (???) is glaring of a plastic bag so you can't see it. What you can see is the beautiful paper bag the shop put the paper in, that's it at the top left under my paint storage box, all leaves and autumnal colours - saving that.
That's all for this week but if you want to have a look at my finished iPad case that featured on earlier desks then pop over to this post.
Then pop over to Julia's place to join in the fun, it's Wednesday so make yourself a drink, pull up a chair and get snooping.

Super that you are in on making the little quilts ann and maybe it will lead to doing bigger ones for home too! I went to the shop in Lady Heyes and got some fab pieces. It's a super place and lovely ladies too. All your fault, tee hee! as I already have a stash of fabric but I loved going there.
hope to see you Saturday,
Jo x
Wow, you're right about the paper bag, boy it's gorgeous! Love the colours you've chosen for your quilt project; I for one totally get your scissor reluctance, it's really quite scarey isn't it! No doubt you'll do a fab job, look forward to seeing it!
Your journal is really looking great. Looking forward to seeing the quilt in time.
Lilybo quilts are a great idea.

Sun? What is this 'sun' of which you speak?! It's great that you're doing a Lilybo quilt. I want to, but i've never made a quilt before so am in the process of learning so i can join in these kinds of projects in the future. Have a great week - Lucy #23 x
Lovely rainbow of colour on your journal page.

Oh, look at all that gorgeous fabric...yum yum!! I think I've got over the fear of the First Cut, though suffered badly when I first started! Just go for it, the children will be delighted and won't even comment about wobbly stitching etc etc. if you want some bag patterns, try www.freeneedle.com. It's a great site full of different sewing patterns, all free!
Hugs, LLJ 36 xxxx

Gorgeous journal pages, and such a creative looking desk. Of COURSE I had to pop to see the iPad case, as I make them myself. I tend to you elastic for the corners and soft fabric with stiff interfacing but like the look of this one. Off to find out more.
Happy WOYWW

That fabric will make such a pretty quilt Ann, love the paper wrapping too and one of those stencils looks like braille, or maybe really old fashioned computer code!!

Gorgeous fabrics Ann....just get those scissors going and shout if you need help :-)

I'm living in hope with you that Spring will soon be here and be glorious, Ann. It's got to be better than all this wind and rain anyway.
You have some lovely looking things on your desk. I am dithering about my quilt too, not too sure where to start to be honest!!! We'll dither together shall we.
Happy WOYWW

I too have a little stash of Graphic 45 papers that I keep and if the bag is pretty you should keep it as well. AJ page looks wonderful.
